Lostock infants school 1908 the girl third from right second row is Mary Billington. They are all dressed in their Sunday best. All the lads could have been involved in the first world war, no doubt a few have their names are on the war memorial in works lane.

Not a good pic this is looking towards Northwich and the canal bridge, the house on the right is still there minus its bell tower. The chimney on the left is Heskeths bone mill just to the left is another chimney Bowman Thompson,s soda works the base of the chimney in ICI,s day was a plumbers workshop.
 
This is the smoker brook just Manchester side of the smoker inn.

Lostock cross roads

This is looking towards Manchester taken from the chip shop, the property on the left is the Blackgreyhound. It was knocked down before the before the first world war behind is Holford Villa they were knocked down in the 1970,s. Look at the chap in the straw hat a dapper  looking character and the Bobbie on his bike     who i reckon is Sergeant Henry Mighall. The white property on the right is Smallwood's creameries. Hope farm todays Motorite is behind the Slow when I was a youngster we would congregate just in front of the council yard leaning against the wall that was the side of Hope farm and you could make out a few cobble stones that were the the back yard of the old Greyhound
